UIT Investing is the first research platform to provide investment ratings and comparative analysis of the unit investment trust market.
Because of their unique structures, often involving shorter terms and complex holdings, as well as the significant depth of the market, UITs are generally not reviewed by mutual fund research services, such as Lipper, Value Line, or Morningstar. In addition, portfolio monitoring software is not designed to evaluate UIT portfolios. This makes evaluating UITs onerous, and poses unique challenges for finance professionals trying to meet compliance standards, avoid unsuitability risks, and make well-informed investment recommendations.
We launched UIT Investing to change all that. UIT Investing is the only dedicated resource for comprehensive, proprietary UIT research and performance evaluation designed to help finance professionals and investors better understand and utilize UITs.
With a successful track record of over 15 years in the financial services industry, Randy Watts has spent much of his career in the UIT market — at both large and small sponsor firms, including Van Kampen Investments, Matrix Capital Group, Incapital, and Nuveen Investments.
Recognized as a UIT industry expert, Randy has deep expertise in both the management level and operational details of the UIT business. He has spent over a decade working in UIT product development, compliance, trading, and portfolio administration, and fully appreciates the challenges UIT evaluation poses for finance professionals and investors alike.
